Day 1

So we got up at about 5 AM, which is ok when the rest of your loving family hasn’t used up all the hot water. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for me. After that joyous event, we got to the airport, and the plane left on time and arrived without incident. We headed over to Rockefeller Center, where we had lunch at the cafe facing the center. Afterwards, Katie and I went ice skating in the center. I had never skated before, so it was a new experience: 50 minutes, 0 falls! It was quite exhilarating.

We went back to the hotel for a quick nap, and then headed out for "Curtains." It was extremely clever and very funny. David Hyde Pierce was awesome, as were Debra Monk and Edward Hibbert (Gil in Frasier).


After the play, we went to a little Italian restaurant called Orso. The service was...questionable, but the food was pretty good. We were the second to last table to finish at about 12:45 AM.
